I am a fan of Tim Russert, but I think he flubbed the ball while speaking with Governor Huckabee on Meet the Press yesterday. When Huckabee insisted that life begins as soon as a woman's egg is fertilized, Russert should have asked this religious zealot to explain why the Old Testment distinguishes between a fetus at any stage and one who has actually been born into our world? To explain why Huckabee's God demands a life for a life when the life of a human being is taken but only a monetary penalty when a woman's fetus is destroyed against that woman's will?

Why is the media giving Senator Clinton a pass on this issue of a surrogate making that obvious statement referring to Senator Obama's drug past? The surrogate makes the statement; it doesn't play well; the surrogate makes a lame cover statement. Senator Clinton says that she believes the cover story. She is the only person on the planet that believes the cover story. This is exactly what John Edwards has been talking about. Senator Clinton is giving a wink and a nod cover to a big contributor - will she bend the rules and principles for other big contributors? When the drug companies come calling, will she bend the rules for them? Everyone in the media ignored this point and focused on the race issue - this is more important and you passed it by. Shame on you.
